dwindling flames within
gasping for breath
reek of a decaying ambition
all is lost
a self made misery
heckled by an ego
a room full of shadows
all is lost
perpetual frown replaced
the pleasant countenance
altered propensities
all is lost
choking on what will be
sick of what is
lamenting what was
all is lost

Requiem
On a cursed August evening
misery brewed neath the cloudless skies
fallen asleep, never to wake again
you left us in a pale disguise
Clenched teeth holding on to a life lost
Gazing spellbound into the obscure
with tearful eyes we bade farewell
recollecting the days of yore
I remember the restless waits
Scent of the soaked earthen floor
the dilapidated wooden ceiling
the sheer joy of finding you at the door
And there you used to stand
pickled and jaded, barely on your feet
whimsical yet charming
hopeless yet upbeat
Those momentary fits of anger
that innocent, helpless face
sleepless nights in the musty room
cheating death's ugly embrace
And then you changed for good
dwarfing the weaknesses, you chose to live
but the dream didn't last too long
as fate had something more to give
Defeated the behemoth malady
succumbing to a trivial disease
drenched in the fateful rain
shivered by the vile summer breeze
misery brewed neath the cloudless skies
fallen asleep, never to wake again
you left us in a pale disguise
Clenched teeth holding on to a life lost
Gazing spellbound into the obscure
with tearful eyes we bade farewell
recollecting the days of yore
I remember the restless waits
Scent of the soaked earthen floor
the dilapidated wooden ceiling
the sheer joy of finding you at the door
And there you used to stand

And then you changed for good
dwarfing the weaknesses, you chose to live

Defeated the behemoth malady
succumbing to a trivial disease

Subtle Nonsense
smoke fills the tiny room
music sounds louder and clearer
pushed inwards by an unknown force
the walls move nearer and nearer
lines seem to blur and colours melt
stars scintillate like never before
darkness descends in a heavenly truce
as I stare through the open door
splendour falls on the concrete floor
these particles have a life of their own
wandering aimlessly like ignorant humans
oblivious to the unlit zone
mesmerized by this conjuration
I reach out for a mote of dust
my senses let me down again
as I hit the wall head first
rolls of boisterous laughter wake me
cruelly piercing through my head
but I can't stop laughing either
as I lay down with eyes blood red
then they hand me more of it
I'm beginning to like this stuff
sucked it in as one of them said
followed by a violent cough
music sounds louder and clearer
pushed inwards by an unknown force
the walls move nearer and nearer
lines seem to blur and colours melt
stars scintillate like never before
darkness descends in a heavenly truce
as I stare through the open door
splendour falls on the concrete floor
these particles have a life of their own
wandering aimlessly like ignorant humans
oblivious to the unlit zone
